Cover Supervisor

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching or those with experience in an educational setting. This role begins April 2025.

Duties as a Cover Supervisor:

1. Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students stay on task.
2. Deliver pre-planned lesson materials and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
3. Encourage student participation and maintain a positive learning environment.
4. Respond to any questions from students and provide guidance where necessary.
5. Ensure that completed work is collected and returned to the appropriate teacher.
6. Report back on student behaviour and any issues arising during the lesson.
7. Support the wider school community, assisting with duties such as breaktime supervision and exam invigilation when required.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting.
2. Strong classroom management skills and confidence in leading a class.
3. A positive and proactive attitude with the ability to engage and motivate students.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. The ability to adapt quickly and work flexibly across different subjects and age groups.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
7. A degree or relevant qualifications in education (desirable but not essential).
