Join our team as a Cover Supervisor and get out to work in some of our amazing Coventry secondary schools!

One school we work with in particular is a secondary school based in CV2 who are seeking a cover supervisor to work on a full-time or flexible basis.

Location: Coventry

Hours: 08:30-15:30

Rate of pay: £100-140 (per day, dependent upon experience)

The role of a cover supervisor is integral for pupils to have continuity with their learning. You will be filling in, in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre-planned materials and managing classroom behaviour effectively.

Ideal Applicant:

1. Previous experience as a cover supervisor
2. Experience as a TA/HLTA and confident in stepping up to a cover supervisor role
3. English and Maths GCSEs
4. Confident and strong classroom management skills
5. Awareness and experience of children with special educational needs
6. Excellent communication skills

You will be responsible for:

1. Following set lesson plans accurately outlined by the absent class teacher
2. Ensuring all work set out is delivered in an engaging manner
3. Managing behaviours within the class professionally and effectively to get the most out of the pupils
4. Following the policies and procedures for the school you are working in, at all times
5. Communicating effectively with staff in the school at all times
6. Being a positive role model to pupils and ensuring they feel safe in each of your lessons
7. Marking some of the work you have delivered (you may or may not have marking responsibility, depending upon the school)
8. Reporting any issues with regards to safeguarding to the relevant people (DSL) in a timely manner

Cover supervisors, when successful at a school, tend to be booked on a regular basis in the same school. It is vital to make a good first impression!
