Job description

My government client based in Manchester City Centre has an exciting opportunity for an individual to work within the Public Sector as a Court Usher 37 hours per week. This role will help build an understanding of the HM courts and tribunals internal systems.

Salary is £11.44 per hour contracted to 37 hours a week during office hours, increasing to £12.07 per hour after 12 weeks of employment.

This role is suited to a candidate with excellent communication and organisational skills and will require being on their feet most of the day.

The right candidate will be responsible for ushering and clerical duties, which will include:

  1. Filing, scanning, collecting, and delivering files to the court rooms.
  2. Preparing the court rooms for the day.
  3. Liaising with members of the public, legal team, CPS, solicitors, and the witness service.
  4. Answering face-to-face enquiries.
  5. Keeping all parties informed of any changes, e.g., change of court room.

As this is a government role, you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and provide three years' worth of employment history, including references.
