Courier Manager / Courier, Guildford – Up to £50K plus benefits

This family run business is looking for the next generation of management to take their business to the next level. They want someone who really wants to put their heart and soul into a business, and in return you could have not only a job for life, but be part of a family business that cares for its people.

You do not need courier experience. Just the right attitude to learn and develop.

We are looking for a Courier Manager who will spend around 25% on the road too. This Courier Manager will have a passion for great service and aspire to excel in all areas of business.


In this challenging and rewarding role, they’ll expect you to develop and manage existing relationships for their new best in class courier service. You will act as the key point of contact for your customers, working to meet their unique courier needs, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to improve their overall experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with your customers.
  2. Work with clients to understand their specific courier needs and provide customised courier solutions to meet those needs effectively.
  3. Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding any escalated service-related issues, working swiftly to resolve concerns and ensure the smooth operation of deliveries.
  4. Sales Support: Identify opportunities for upselling additional services, cross-selling other logistics offerings, and contributing to overall revenue growth.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Track account performance metrics, such as revenue growth, our service standards, customer feedback, and overall satisfaction, to ensure clients are receiving the highest standard of service.
  6. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare a pipeline, profile clients and deliver regular customer reports.

This Courier Manager’s technical skills and experience will be:

  1. A passion for business, not just couriers.
  2. Proven experience in account management, customer service, or a similar client-facing role in the express courier or logistics industry.
  3. Good understanding of express courier services, including shipping processes, logistics operations, and industry standards.
  4. Innovative problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and take initiative in challenging situations.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
