An established international renewable energy development and EPC company is seeking an experienced and collaborative Country Manager to lead their entry into the United States.
The business has over 50 years in the industry, with Solar, Wind, Battery Storage and Hydrogen projects ranging across the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, Latin America and The Middle East.
At present, the company has over 2GW installed across 3 continents for major clients such as Lightsource, Iberdrola, Cobra, and EDP. It employs over 500 people globally.
Having recently and successfully built and developed high performing teams and projects in the UK and mainland European countries, the business is keen to invest in the US following a similar blueprint.
The Role
The Country Manager will lead the development strategy (greenfield and brownfield) of Renewable Energy projects in the US market, with the intention of building a solid pipeline, strong team and clear strategy for the business long-term. They will also lead the growth of an EPC team.
The incumbent will need a track record of building teams from scratch, managing P&L, and overseeing projects through development to RtB (Ready-to-Build) and construction. Guiding, managing and mentoring team members whilst being ‘hands-on’ in your initial approach. Providing strategic planning and being a member of the senior leadership team globally.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead, strategize and grow a US development and EPC business with strong investment and support from a global organization. The role is hybrid, based out of Dallas, with 2 or more days a week based out of the office there. This is an opportunity not just to develop projects but also see them constructed and commissioned.
Experience
- 10 years of experience in large-scale renewable energy development or construction.
- Previous experience as a Country Manager, Head of Development or in a similar leadership role.
- Experience originating, land screening, negotiation of options and bankable leases.
- Proven success managing national P&Ls.
- Strong network of contacts across institutions.
- Managing stakeholder relationships with JV partners and local EPCs.
Skills- Strong understanding of full-cycle greenfield and brownfield development.
- Career examples of growing development and/or EPC teams from scratch.
- Strong origination skills and identification of renewables opportunities.
