Job description

Michael Page are recruiting for a Management Accountant on behalf of a well established manufacturing business based in Salford.

This role will include cost accounting, management accounts and business partnering with both shop floor staff and site management.

Description

Cost Accountant duties include:

  1. Assist in the preparation of manufacturing accounts.
  2. Preparation and Analysis of Actual Cost of Sales (COS) and update expected COS for forecast analysis. Analyse key variances and report drivers.
  3. Maintaining standard costing process, update and revaluation across all legal entities.
  4. Maintaining overhead rates and analysis of variances to expected.
  5. Inventory reconciliation, variance analysis, yield analysis, obsolete and slow moving stock provisions.
  6. Managing monthly stock-takes and delivering year end inventory stocktake.
  7. Providing financial support with monthly cost and inventory review meetings.
  8. Prepare and process journals to support month end process.
  9. Preparation and reconciliation of monthly journals.
  10. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for specified accounts.
  11. Project expenditure management and control.
  12. Support, definition, analysis, implementation and control of identified avenues of improvement.
  13. Active engagement with manufacturing group to support deployment and analysis of operational excellence programmes aimed at improving productivity and agility.
  14. Support supply chain group to understand material and logistic cost breakdown providing analysis to support savings initiatives.
  15. Manage the reporting of costs through the life of the product.
  16. Support the Commercial Accountant in pricing decisions.
  17. Reporting and analysis.
  18. Active engagement within a team based environment with operations.
  19. Coach and support managers within the business in financially-based analysis and decision making.
  20. Maintain effective working relationships with budget holding managers within the business.
  21. Apply IT applications to drive efficiency improvements in the collection, reporting and distribution of financial information.
Profile

The successful candidate will:

  1. Have a proven track record in a similar role (manufacturing / cost accounting experience).
  2. Be part qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or qualified by experience.
  3. Be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal).
  4. Have working knowledge of ERP systems.
  5. Be proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
Job Offer

A salary up to £50,000.
