Cost Accountant

Are you an experienced Qualified Accountant who has good knowledge of costings, analysis and process improvements?

A leading company based in Chelmsford is looking for a Cost Accountant to work alongside several department heads on various projects while operating across their global entities.

As a Cost Accountant you will be responsible for:

1. Analysis of production costs and compare them with the standard costs to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
2. Conduct cost-benefit analysis and assist in pricing decisions to ensure profitability.
3. Oversee the inventory valuation process, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of inventory costs.
4. Perform regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
5. Monitor and analyze inventory levels, turnover rates, and obsolescence.
6. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
7. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
8. Collaborate with production and procurement teams to estimate future manufacturing costs.
9. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the manufacturing process.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-saving initiatives.
11. Continuously improve costing systems and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
