This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the fast-growing tax group that handles the corporate tax aspects of the firm's Film, Television, and video game clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing corporate tax advisory and compliance engagements.

Our clients include all the major Hollywood studios, major streaming networks as well as many independent film and television production companies in the US and UK. We also work with many other entities ancillary to film and television production, such as film financiers, visual effects and post-production houses and other service providers. Finally, we work with a number of video game developers ranging from small independents to large multi-national studios.

The responsibilities

Frequently dealing with challenging technical issues, the candidate can expect the role to encompass the following areas amongst others:

  1. Responsibility for the delivery of tax reporting and compliance engagements, including tax accounting, across a portfolio of F&TV corporate tax clients.
  2. Detailed technical research and responding to ad-hoc technical queries from clients and other teams.
  3. Helping to identify advisory opportunities for your client portfolio.
  4. Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior team members.
  5. Advising on the operation of the creative sector tax reliefs, and how clients can structure their productions to obtain the maximum benefit from them.
  6. Advising on a range of technical areas depending on experience and interest. These could include: complex capital allowances claims, R&D tax relief, transfer pricing, Substantial Shareholdings Exemption, Controlled Foreign Companies, Corporate Interest Restriction, Withholding Tax and Double Taxation Relief, with the support of specialist colleagues where required.

The team

The Film & TV group is one of the leading advisors to this sector and holds a wide client list encompassing some of the world's largest and most successful Film, TV, Video Game and Sports companies.

You will sit within an industry-focused team as part of a wider national Corporate Tax team, comprising of 9 Tax Partners and over 110 tax professionals.

You

Experience of working with clients in the F&TV Sector is not essential; however, an interest in this industry would be preferable. The role would suit an ACA/CTA qualified individual with several years post-qualification experience in corporation tax.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. A clear client focus with a commitment to building strong client relationships.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in different teams.
  8. Coaching and mentoring skills to develop other team members.

The firm will provide training and support to help develop the successful candidate's specialist knowledge and capabilities. For the right individual, there is scope to progress quickly within the team.

Reward and benefits

  1. Hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week.
  2. Excellent benefits including; contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, Life Assurance cover and great flexible benefits and family-friendly policies.
