CORPORATE BUYER (OKC/FT)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED AS A CORPORATE BUYER:

1. Ensure items are priced correctly and displayed in designated showrooms accurately.
2. Create, maintain, and enter product information into the retail software system as well as vendor information.
3. Place purchase orders for products based on sales projections.
4. Collaborate with designers, manufacturers, suppliers, and ownership to ensure a consistent and high-quality product offering.
5. Input/track orders and resolve delivery issues through cross-functional communication with vendors and distribution centers.
6. Maintain a close pulse on trends and customer needs to identify new assortment opportunities. Find products that deliver compelling newness and have potential to be tomorrow’s best sellers.
7. Answer sales questions about products, prices, and availability.
8. Recommend advertising opportunities based on inventory levels.
9. Inspect damaged merchandise and make informed decisions on pricing and where to place merchandise as needed.
10. Conduct monthly walkthroughs to Mathis Home and Ashley stores to obtain feedback to improve product performance/sales.
11. Work closely with factory representatives to discuss sales, parts, orders, and resolve any product issues.
12. Assist with periodic inventory counts.
13. Assist with monthly category reporting.
14. Help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
15. Own the financial outcomes for the performance of the products placed in stores.
16. Regularly assess performance and revise assortment and floor space allocation strategy as needed.
17. Any other duties as directed by management.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS AS A CORPORATE BUYER:

Ability to lift merchandise of 20 lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members; positive attitude when working with customers; knowledge of employment and merchandise handling procedures. Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s license with no more than 2 traffic violations or 1 chargeable accident within the past three years.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.

Heavy Work: Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects.
