Main Purpose

The newly created role of Editor & Copywriter will be responsible for ensuring every piece of content makes sense within the buying journey and is consistent with our brand. The goal is to help generate sales opportunities, driving revenue, through engaging content. The successful candidate must have a strong ability to interpret briefs and business requirements, present persuasively to a variety of specialists, and defend ideas and execution.

The role will report to the Head of Content but it will be a resource supporting the full marketing team – sitting in a central marketing team (alongside the campaign manager and graphic designer). The successful candidate will help update the brand narrative and guidelines for the wider team/business to follow moving forward, drive consistency among all content and be a key member of the fast-growing marketing team.

This person will be able to utilize and further develop their skills in an agile and ambitious marketing team who are always looking to achieve the best.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  1. Plan, write and edit content across the full marketing team - adhering to a consistent brand philosophy
  2. Build clear brand messaging across each product family that feeds into the overarching brand narrative
  3. Create style guides for the wider marketing team & business stakeholders
  4. Produce high-conversion content for prospect nurturing programs
  5. Work closely with the content team to align the creation of content
  6. Edit and provide expert input into content for field marketing and product marketing campaigns
  7. Work closely with the Digital Content Manager to craft and edit copy for use on our website with a targeted focus on new pages/new sectors
  8. Support internal and external brand communications copy
  9. Support the creation of clear, persuasive, original copy for ABM campaigns
  10. Support the marketing management team with content requests

Skills/Experience Required

  1. Experience of creating relevant brand and customer-focused copy, executed across a variety of marketing channels and touchpoints, with demonstrable evidence of the positive impact your writing has had, e.g. on improving brand awareness, engagement, ROI, etc
  2. Experience of writing in a digitally-native brand voice
  3. Strong customer and commercial focus, determined to create value for our customers, brand, and business
  4. An understanding of copy trends and best practices, and the ability to write in a variety of styles and tones across different channels – including email campaigns, in-product marketing, SEO content, and more
  5. Strong copywriting and editorial skills with excellent attention to detail
  6. An ability to respond to short-term requests as well as planned work, prioritizing your workload and managing briefs
  7. Strong SEO awareness
  8. Strong knowledge on core Microsoft solutions such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  9. An excellent communicator, a strong relationship builder, and stakeholder manager, with an ability to simplify complexity and take people with you
  10. Strong timekeeping and organizational skills with the ability to project manage multiple tasks at once
  11. Highly motivated, ‘can-do’ attitude

Desirable Skills but not essential

  1. Experience within a legal technology or professional services organization
  2. Experience with any of the following tools / software: Canva, Umbraco, Salesforce, Pardot.
