Job Description:

Skytech, inc. is a General Aviation sales, service and management organization specializing in high-end owner flown and business aircraft. Skytech represents the Piper and Pilatus PC12 product lines as well as quality pre-owned aircraft. With full-service FBO’s at the Carroll County Regional Airport in Westminster, Maryland (Baltimore/Washington Metro Area) and York County Airport in Rock Hill, South Carolina (Charlotte Metro Area), Skytech is ideally positioned to serve the Mid-Atlantic aviation community.

The Line Service Technician assists all aircraft in handling procedures and acts as a handling liaison to customers on the ramp, playing a key role in ensuring safe and efficient ground operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that assigned duties are performed to the highest professional standards and safety;
  • Participates in the SMS - Safety Management System;
  • Provides marshaling assistance for aircraft, GSE (Ground Service Equipment), and vehicles;
  • Provides aircraft parking and securing services, including wheel chocking and aircraft tie-downs;
  • Assists passengers, including:
    • Assisting passengers on and off aircraft;
    • Coordinating with the Customer Support Representative to ensure passengers are escorted to and from the passenger lounge using the safest path possible;
    • Coordinating with the Customer Support Representative to assist passengers who require additional assistance on the ramp and during embarkation/disembarkation.
  • Provides cargo handling services, including:
    • Confirming with the PIC (Pilot in Command) that cargo is ready to load or unload from the aircraft;
    • Loading and unloading onto aircraft;
    • Assisting passengers in moving cargo between the passenger lounge and aircraft.
  • Operates GSE in a safe and responsible manner;
  • Performs basic GSE maintenance and inspections;
  • Services aircraft as requested, including:
    • Lavatory servicing;
    • Aircraft cleaning (internal and external);
    • Garbage removal and de-catering.
  • Provides aircraft tug/tow services;
  • Operates the fuel farm;
  • Supervises fueling operations;
  • Cleans and details aircraft as assigned;
  • Assumes any duties delegated by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Able to lift a 50 lb. box up to 6 ft. in the air;
  • Has previous ground handling experience;
  • Holds a high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Ability to work evening shift hours, 12-8PM;
    • Flexibility regarding schedule relative to operations: FBO (Fixed Based Operator) is open every day with the exception of December 25th. Hours 7:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday and 8:00 am to 7:00 pm or 8:00 pm on weekends.
