Job Title: 3D CAD Manager

Location: Basingstoke, UK

Overview: Under broad direction, you will oversee and perform the full spectrum of activities related to 3D CAD coordination, management, and system administration. This role involves managing the system setup, administration, and maintenance, as well as coordinating the development of the 3D multi-discipline SmartPlant S3D model. You'll ensure project deliverables align with client and company standards, coordinate with IT support to resolve CAD application issues promptly, and implement a 3D CAD management plan. Additionally, you'll provide user support and facilitate smooth execution of CAD processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• CAD Management: Create and implement policies, plans, and procedures, including naming conventions and model hierarchies, ensuring full compliance with project standards.
• 3D Model Development: Oversee the setup, management, and maintenance of the SmartPlant S3D 3D model, ensuring global working capabilities, system administration, and clash detection.
• Process Optimization: Establish and improve CAD management processes, systems, and tools to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
• Cross-Discipline Coordination: Conduct regular coordination meetings and briefings with CAD teams across multiple offices, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
• Deliverable Creation: Support the development of 2D deliverables from SmartPlant S3D, including generating review models, 3D visualizations, and incorporating supplier models for clash detection.
• Clash Management: Responsible for clash management, reporting, and troubleshooting issues with the SmartPlant 3D application.
• User Support: Provide desktop support, software troubleshooting, and ensure the correct deployment of CAD management systems.
• Software Maintenance: Manage and report software issues, interface with IT, and support software version upgrades.

Job Roles:

• Develop and implement 3D CAD execution plans, naming conventions, and model hierarchy structures.
• Generate and maintain detailed work instructions and job notes.
• Monitor and report on the progress of 3D model development and coordinated 2D/3D data flow.
• Support clash management, including detection and reporting.
• Interface with the Information Management (IM) team to track 3D model progress and data coordination.
• Collaborate with IT support for the smooth introduction and upgrading of software.
