Cook Team Leader – Lead a High-Performing Production Team

The Role

As a Cook Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and motivating a team in a fast-paced food production environment. Working alongside the Production Manager and an existing Cook Team Lead, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with team-leading experience in food production who enjoys working in a structured environment and driving performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate the Cook and Prep teams, ensuring smooth workflow.
2. Plan and assign daily tasks, holding team briefings to set expectations.
3. Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and efficiency.
4. Monitor and maintain HACCP/SALSA compliance, signing off necessary paperwork.
5. Manage stock levels and support batch production planning.
6. Oversee staff scheduling and contribute to performance management.
7. Use Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for tracking and reporting. (Training can be provided)
8. Act as a problem solver, ensuring any production issues are resolved quickly.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

1. Experience in leading teams in a food production setting.
2. Strong organizational and time-management skills to oversee workflow.
3. Confidence in using Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
4. A hands-on, proactive approach to daily operations.

Desirable:

1. Training in Food Hygiene, HACCP, COSHH, or Health & Safety.
2. 3+ years of food manufacturing experience.

Shift Patterns & Work-Life Balance

1. Facility operates 5:30 AM – 11 PM, 7 days a week.
