Conveying Design Team Leader

Location: Cumbria
Industry: Engineering & Manufacturing
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Are you an experienced design engineer with a passion for leading teams and delivering high-quality engineering solutions? A leading global provider of high-speed machinery solutions is looking for a Conveying Design Team Leader to drive innovation, manage projects, and lead a skilled team in designing and delivering cutting-edge conveying systems.

What You'll Do:

  1. Lead the Conveying Design Team, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
  2. Use 3D and 2D CAD to design and visualise product lines.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to define project requirements and ensure timely delivery.
  4. Oversee engineering change notes and corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  5. Identify and implement new processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  6. Travel internationally (2-3 times per year) to support projects as needed.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:
  1. Extensive engineering experience (HNC or equivalent).
  2. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks & SolidWorks PDM.
  3. Experience in 3D modelling, technical drawings (ISO standards), and manufacturing processes.
  4. Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:
  1. Knowledge of Inventor, AutoCAD, and MRP systems (training available).
  2. Prior experience in a team leader role.
  3. Willingness to learn new software and CAD systems.
