Legal Secretary - Conveyancing

Location: Walsall (Office-Based)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Salary: £22,000 - £28,000 p/a
Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join a well-established law firm in Walsall, supporting a busy Conveyancing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual with a strong background in residential or commercial conveyancing.

Day-to-day of the role:

  1. Provide administrative and legal secretarial support to fee earners in the Conveyancing department.
  2. Prepare and amend legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  3. Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and handle client enquiries.
  4. Conduct Land Registry searches and prepare SDLT forms.
  5. Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties.
  6. Open and close files and assist with file management, ensuring compliance with legal procedures.
  7. Handle dictation, audio typing, and general administrative tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Conveyancing legal secretary role.
  2. Strong knowledge of residential or commercial property transactions.
  3. Excellent typing skills, including audio and copy typing.
  4. Proficiency in case management systems and MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  5. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
  6. Strong communication and client care skills.
