Builds, installs and/or maintains robotic equipment and/or automated production systems.
Maintains service records of that equipment.
Troubleshoots systems using knowledge of micro processing, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
Develops robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
Aligns, fits, or assembles component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
Programming, commissioning, and testing of Rockwell, Siemens, and Omron PLC and HMI programs, which may include associated manufacturing equipment such as motion control, vision, RFID, scanners/readers, measurement, and instrumentation equipment.
Responsible for maintaining, developing, and following company’s control standards, templates, and programming libraries.
Troubleshooting/diagnosing of process issues and perform root cause analysis.
Perform daily checks as required on all equipment as instructed.
Supports continuous improvement projects by analyzing root causes and working with other departments to implement solutions.
Assist operators in the day-to-day functions of the machines.
Ensuring operator settings are correct and working when a machine stops or fails.
Work closely with the shift Supervisor to improve process efficiency, quality, and reliability.
Performs all duties as assigned in accordance with and adherence to the IATF/TS 16949 Quality System Standard.
Follows policies, procedures, and work instructions as outlined in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee Handbook.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in related field (Mechanical Engineering, skilled trade, etc.) an asset (Electromechanical Engineering Technology).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in working as a controls/automation technician role in a similar assembly/robotic welding environment.
Proficient knowledge of PLC programming using RsLogix 500/5000 Studio 5000 (i.e., ABB).
REFERRED KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of machinery safety, programming of safety devices with safety PLC.
Mechanical and electrical knowledge to understand process operations.
Strong ability to work with hand tools to adjust dies and sensors.
Excellent grasp on how HMI buttons and sensors can affect the cell.
Knowledge of machine guarding and safety devices.
Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge to understand process operations.
Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and devices an asset.
Experience with stamping presses an asset.
Familiarity with preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
