Controls Engineer

Are you an experienced Controls Engineer with a passion for working on cutting-edge projects in the automotive sector? We are seeking a talented professional to join a growing team, contributing to the development of state-of-the-art robotic production lines for Body in White (BIW) automotive factories.

The Opportunity:

This role involves creating software solutions from scratch, commissioning onsite, and handing over to customers. You'll play a vital role in reducing costs by bringing software and robotics in-house, working on one of the UK's most popular automotive projects. Travel between project sites, including the Midlands and the North West, will be required, with travel time paid and overtime available after 45 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Designing, creating, and testing PLC & HMI programs.
2. Supporting Project Managers in planning and monitoring project progress.
3. Delivering high-standard solutions that meet client specifications.
4. Communicating effectively with clients to understand detailed requirements.
5. Preparing comprehensive documentation and providing strong reporting to line managers.
6. Working independently and proactively to meet deadlines.

Essential Experience:

1. Proven expertise in Automotive manufacturing.
2. Strong track record in Controls Engineering or PLC Programming.
3. BIW experience in large robotic production lines.

Desirable Skills:

1. Experience with Rockwell and Siemens control systems.
2. Electrical design knowledge, preferably using Eplan.
3. Experience with Virtual Commissioning and DCP software standards.
