Job Description

Join this world leader in the planning and implementation of paint shops for the automotive industry utilizing robot solutions for innovative projects.

Position: Controls Commissioning Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 OTE £70,000+
7.5% Pension Contribution
10% Annual Bonus
Company Car or Car Allowance
Location: West Midlands

With a HNC or equivalent level of qualification in a software/electrical engineering or related discipline, you will have a background of working within a tier 1 controls system supplier or system integrator.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and fault finding in a control system environment.
  2. Design and code PLC programs with knowledge of Siemens Step7/TIA and/or Rockwell Control Logix programming software.
  3. Design SCADA systems and use of relevant programming such as Javascript, C#, or VB script.

Requirements:

  1. Methodical work ethic with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  2. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize planned workloads while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  3. Flexible approach to meet industry needs and ability to work independently and within a team.
  4. Willingness to travel and work on customer sites around the UK and sometimes overseas for short and extended periods (4-6 weeks max).
  5. Flexible with regards to travel and working time, including weekends and some shift work.
