Control Systems Engineer

Salary: £45-50k

Established controls & robotics business in the Midlands has an immediate need for an experienced Control Engineer to develop automated systems for a range of both blue chip and SME customers.

Control Systems Engineer - The Role:

  • Take responsibility for the complete project lifecycle
  • Be the Lead Engineer for all stages of projects
  • Carry out all PLC software development
  • Complete all test & commissioning activities both in-house and on-site - all robot cells are built and tested in-house

Control Systems Engineer - The Person:

  • Competent with Siemens or Rockwell PLC software - experience with both highly advantageous
  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Flexible for UK wide travel for commissioning as needed - approximately 20% of the role
  • Experience with the development of control systems for automated machinery projects
  • Any experience of robotic cells/robot handling highly advantageous - robot training will be provided for the right candidate

Once they have an experienced Engineer in place, the plan is to recruit an additional Junior level Engineer, therefore giving you the opportunity to be involved with training and development.

Site work is minimal. Projects are UK based with approximately 1-2 large projects per year involving a week of commissioning. Hours are 8-4.30 with a 2.30 finish on a Friday.
