Qualifications

Job Title: Control of Contractor and APSYS Lead (Services)
6 month plus contract - potential for permanent engagement thereafter
Up to 50 k per annum dependant upon exp

Purpose of the job:
The APSYS and Control of Contract Leader is responsible to Drive APSYS (Production System) deployment within a Maintenance site, especially supporting department heads for production and is responsible for the Control of Contractors process at Central Rivers.

Position in the Organisation:
Organization Structure:
- See Central Rivers site and project organization chart.

Organizational Reporting:
- Direct report line to Depot Improvements Manager

Team (depends on scope):
People ( ) : 0 direct report

Network and links:
- Within their site: production, quality, industrialization teams,
- At shop floor line/workshop managers, EPU ('Elementary Production Unit') managers and operators.
- Other site APSYS Leaders and APSYS Deployment managers.

Mission & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:

APSYS:
- Contribute to site target definition using site SQCD objectives and APSYS roadmap.
- Support each department in APSYS deployment by providing on field expertise on APSYS tools.
- Train people about APSYS in their Areas of responsibilities.
- Report monthly deployment status to Depot Operations Manager and Project Teams.
- Is responsible for the APSYS action plans and evidence packages against each criteria.

Control of Contractors:
- Ensures CoC process are followed and adhered to.
- Leads the Work Package process and reviews and makes sure all documents are in place.
- Governs and audits contractors on site,
- Is leader of the Alstom competent operational supervisors.
- Create and manage a complete list of all competent supervisors for control of contractor activities in absence of 'Control of Contractor and APSYS Lead (Services)' (self) for 24 hour operation.

Continuous Improvement:
- Define and drive the improvement action plan for the site with the corresponding departments.
- Facilitate local VSM/SWIP, APSYS workshop events.
- Supports the Depot Improvements Manager with depot improvements initiatives.
Audits:
- Is responsible for site self-assessment and prepare APSYS audit on their site.
- Support APSYS audits in other sites.

Benchmark and toolbox evolution:
- Practice (and host) internal and external benchmarks and training sessions.
- Identify good practices and transmit them to the APSYS Community.

Key Performance Indicators:
- APSYS score for the site and focus on the required targets for that Financial year.
- Site main KPIs (Safety, QCD, etc.).
- Contribution to APSYS community (benchmark, audit, training, regular conf-call).
- Demonstrate Continuous Improvement results and benefits.
- AZDP score (special focus on Control of Contractors).

Candidate requirements:

Educational Requirements:
- Graduate engineering or technician background with 5 years Industrial experience in a railway or production environment.

Desired Knowledge / Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of lean principles (5S, Standard, Gemba, VSM, problem solving, performance and kaizen mindset).
- Industrial technical background (5 years minimum).
- Fluent in English written and oral.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is desirable.
- Ability to navigate and utilize software applications for reporting and data management.
- Experience in managing contractors on an industrial site.
