Control & Instrument Engineer

Control and Instrument Technician for a Chemical site in the Grimsby area.

This role will be hands-on, suitable for someone who wants to step up into a more senior role, or for someone looking to slow down while bringing calm and experience.

Great site with some huge projects ready to start, so times are exciting.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: HND or HNC in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years experience within chemical manufacturing, ideally at a COMAH site.

Experience of plant control systems, ideally awareness of IEC61511.

Knowledge and experience of ATE.

Responsible for providing support for all day-to-day operations and development projects around the Site instrumentation and control systems.

Purpose of the Job:

Provide the Control, software development, and Instrumentation support to the Control Systems Engineer for the site's continuous improvement strategy and ongoing projects.

Main Accountabilities:

1. Ensure Compliance to all site Safety Health & Environment procedures within area of responsibility.
2. Responsible for site control system projects including front end design, programming, commissioning, and handover to operations.
3. Manage external project C & I resources ensuring relevant competency and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
4. Day-to-day troubleshooting of issues related to Instrumentation and control systems.
5. Deputy for Control Systems Engineer.
6. Continual communication link between C&I and Production Personnel on all C&I Aspects.
7. Site support out of hours for issues related to Instrumentation and control systems.
