Job description

Base Location: Perth, Inveralmond House

Salary: £58,630 - £68,098 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Onsite

The role

The Distribution Control Centre (DCC) North is responsible for the management and control of SSEN's High Voltage Distribution Network, which stretches from the central belt of Scotland to Shetland. We cover some of the most remote parts of the UK mainland, with almost 50,000 kilometres of network carrying electricity to homes.

We are looking for a Distribution Control Engineer to join our DCC team based in Perth. This is a fantastic opportunity to train to become a Control Engineer operating on the Distribution Network up to and including 33kV if you have significant SAP experience.

You will
  1. Always adhere to the company's policies and procedures consistently.
  2. Plan and execute High Voltage switching for routine work and faults.
  3. Oversee real time network management and security.
  4. Complete accurate reporting.
You have
  1. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  2. Have an HNC level qualification in Engineering.
  3. System Control Authorisation experience or significant SAP field experience.
  4. An excellent understanding of the Distribution Codes and Procedures.

Candidates for this role will be required to obtain vetting to SC level through UK Government. The criteria normally includes 5 years UK residency.
