A contracts manager is required for a fit-out project based in Essex. Our client is looking for an experienced and hardworking contracts manager to work on a building and construction project accessible by transport links.

Key responsibilities:

• Contract management: reviewing, negotiating, and administrating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Project coordination: ensuring fit-out projects meet contractual, financial, and quality standards whilst staying on schedule.
• Cost control and budgeting: managing project costs, minimising financial risks, and ensuring profitability.
• Safety procedures: ensuring required safety procedures are followed and health and safety standards are met.
• Liaison: regularly liaising with project managers and providing detailed reports of progress on site.
• Compliance and regulations: ensuring adherence to legal, safety, and industry standards.
• Risk management: identifying and mitigating potential project risks.
• Communication and organisation: coordinating with clients, designers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of works.
• Conflict resolution: handling contractual disputes and ensuring claims are managed properly.

Requirements for the Contracts Manager - Fit Out role:

• Degree in construction management, quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in fit-out, refurbishment, or interior construction projects.
• Strong understanding of contract law, procurement, and commercial management.
• Knowledge of standard construction contracts.
