Job description

A large facilities and maintenance company is seeking a Fabric BIA's Contract Manager to oversee a large team on an existing R&D site near Abingdon, Oxfordshire. This role is to manage a team of around 6 people, including a supervisor, as well as external contractors. This is a static Monday - Friday position.

Role Purpose:

  • To oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the Fabric Team and fabric-related sub-contractors.
  • Generation of proposals and supervision from inception to completion of minor and extra works.
  • Ensuring reactive, minor, and extra works are completed to building fabric to a high standard and within service level agreements.
  • Ensure that reactive maintenance is carried out to all site fabric assets.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors to obtain quotations prior to preparation of minor and extra works proposals.
  • Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records are kept pertaining to Health & Safety, Building Compliance, and Quality Assurance.
  • To ensure the Fabric Technicians are undertaking work tasks as directed and with suitable H&S awareness/implementation.
  • Monitoring and awareness of compliance with the contractual KPI's/SLA's.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within a fabric-based manager role.
  • Qualified within a trade.
  • Experience with extra works and projects.
  • Able to manage and oversee direct and indirect labour.
  • Able to pass a BPSS site clearance.
  • Experience managing both commercial and operational functions.
