Contracts Manager Role
The Contracts Manager role is with a traditional building contractor known for delivering projects from start to finish, without excessive red tape and typical tier 1 protocols.

The Company
The building contractor takes on projects of varied nature, including Healthcare, education, local authority, commercial, private residential, sports and leisure, embassy, and religious buildings. They have a strong reputation for delivering construction projects ranging from 2m to 10m, including refurbishment, new build, and Cut and Carve.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have proven longevity and experience working as a Contracts Manager across various sectors, on projects up to 10m in value. Responsibilities will include managing 2-3 smaller projects valued at 2-3m or 1 larger project valued at 10m.

The Project
The contractor operates predominantly in East London, focusing on Healthcare projects, specifically NHS fitouts of Wards. Experience as a Contracts Manager within the Healthcare sector is essential, along with great attention to detail in design and managing M&E packages in a high-paced, fully operational live environment.

Responsibilities

• Attendance and preparation of pre-tender and tender interviews.
• Overall responsibility for up to 2 sites.
• Preparation of tender submissions working alongside the estimating team.
• Production of tender programmes using Microsoft Projects or Asta.
• Understanding of JCT Dnb Contracts.
• Implementation of company procedures on site.
• Implementation of Health and Safety procedures.
• Progress reporting and production of board reports.
• Coordination of design teams and contractor design packages.

Suitable candidates will ideally demonstrate recent work history on similar schemes as Contracts Manager with a reputable main contractor, along with good all-round building experience on projects from 1m to 10m. Time spent with previous employers is important, as is design & build experience.
