Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
We are working with a well-respected contractor with an office base on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team.
Previous experience of:
- Civil Engineering
- Commercial Civil Engineering
- Roads and Sewers
- Industrial Civils
- Industrial Buildings
- Reinforced Concrete
- Earthworks
- Management of company’s own labour and plant
- Liaising with design team
- QEMS procedures
- Programming & Planning
Main duties of the role will be:
- Assume responsibility for numerous projects from start to finish.
- Ensure Pre-Construction and Site Documentation is in place prior to site start.
- Be the technical point of contact for the project site team.
- Make sure plant, manpower and materials are ordered in a timely fashion.
- Ensure project is delivered to the master programme.
- Liaise with Design Team.
- Management of On Site Delivery Team.
- Assume ultimate responsibility for Health and Safety and ensure the highest standards are upheld.
- Subcontractor Selection and Management.
- Work with the client to agree on additional works.
- Ensure temporary works register is in place and fixed as per designs.
- Compile contractor reports and dropline programme for client meetings.
