An established industry player is seeking a Contracts Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in civil engineering, capable of managing complex projects from inception to completion. You'll be responsible for ensuring all pre-construction documentation is in place, liaising with design teams, and upholding the highest health and safety standards. Contracts Manager

Civil Engineering

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

We are working with a well-respected contractor with an office base on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team.

Previous experience of:

  1. Civil Engineering
  2. Commercial Civil Engineering
  3. Roads and Sewers
  4. Industrial Civils
  5. Industrial Buildings
  6. Reinforced Concrete
  7. Earthworks
  8. Management of company’s own labour and plant
  9. Liaising with design team
  10. QEMS procedures
  11. Programming & Planning

Main duties of the role will be:
  1. Assume responsibility for numerous projects from start to finish.
  2. Ensure Pre-Construction and Site Documentation is in place prior to site start.
  3. Be the technical point of contact for the project site team.
  4. Make sure plant, manpower and materials are ordered in a timely fashion.
  5. Ensure project is delivered to the master programme.
  6. Liaise with Design Team.
  7. Management of On Site Delivery Team.
  8. Assume ultimate responsibility for Health and Safety and ensure the highest standards are upheld.
  9. Subcontractor Selection and Management.
  10. Work with the client to agree on additional works.
  11. Ensure temporary works register is in place and fixed as per designs.
  12. Compile contractor reports and dropline programme for client meetings.
