An exciting opportunity to join the Supplies and Procurement North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) at The University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) has arisen. We are seeking to recruit a forward-thinking, ambitious, and commercially astute Contracts Manager to join our busy and evolving team.
The NMBC is responsible for all aspects of Procurement, Supply Chain, and wider Commercial support to various organisations covering a range of Acute, Mental Health, Community, Pathology Networks, GP Practices, and Commissioning Support Units across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, Black Country, Shropshire, and South Cheshire Integrated Care System (ICS’s). With almost 200 staff, 55,000 customers, and managing a total non-pay spend portfolio of over £1.2b per annum, the NMBC is one of the largest and most influential Group Procurement Organisations (GPO’s) in the NHS.
This post sits in the Strategic Procurement team and is based at the UHNM Royal Stoke University Hospital site, reporting to the Senior Strategic Procurement Manager within the NMBC. The role is directly responsible for the management of a portfolio of contracts and specific categories within the Procurement portfolio to meet the needs of the Trust's strategy and customer base requirements. The post holder will ensure best value for money at all times while ensuring compliance with EU Procurement Legislation, UK Law, and the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.
The Contracts Manager will lead and support the procurement of several commodities for the Trust and its partners. This post will be integral in supporting the Department in the delivery of the Trust's Procurement objectives.
Please note, there may at times be some requirement for the successful post-holder to travel between sites in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Wolverhampton, or Walsall.
