The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a new role in our Infectious Disease business, a Contracts and Tender Manager, UK, Ireland & Nordics. As a Contracts & Tender Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Tenders & Contracts function and provide commercial support and advice to the sales teams and management, whilst ensuring all business processes are compliant, structured and efficient.

The role is based at Abbott House in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

What You’ll Do

As a Contracts & Tender Manager you will act as a key business partner, manage all tender and contract knowledge and be a permanent advisor to sales, marketing and general management in relation to all price offerings.

More specifically:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement sales strategies for Tenders and Managed Services contracts in UK, Ireland and Nordics. Drive account acquisition, retention and identify new opportunities. Negotiate tender and contract opportunities.
  2. Commercial Excellence: Coordinate and lead bid and risk assessment activities, ensuring profitability and competitive positioning. Prepare high quality proposals and review them with sales managers and finance leadership. Engage with internal and external partners to develop innovative solutions and value-added services.
  3. Compliance: Review all tender and framework documents to ensure the business is aware of any legal obligations. Ensure the business is complying with OEC policies and competition law. Prepare, review and submit all tenders on time. Review quotations and prices on system to ensure accuracy.

Required qualifications/Profile

  1. University degree preferred
  2. Confident communicator - able to develop good relationships easily with the credibility to challenge management.
  3. Previous experience in a commercial environment is an advantage.
  4. Previous experience from the healthcare sector is an advantage.
  5. Having a good understanding of the procurement process and EU Procurement Regulations within the Nordics is preferred.
  6. Excellent system skills and appreciation – Business Objects Power-BI and SAP data warehouse preferred but not essential.
  7. Driven to achieve excellent standards and to continually seek to improve processes.
