Job Description

This role works closely with the Project Manager and the System Design Authority on a project. As the Project Engineering Lead you will be responsible for successfully delivering engineering activities to time, cost and quality. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, delivering a defined scope of engineering work.

This role will suit someone with a background in working on complex engineering projects with experience of work package management. Ideally you will have:

  1. Great communication skills to build strong relationships within the team and with stakeholders
  2. Experience of managing a team through an engineering development project, ideally from requirements elicitation stage through to production
  3. Experience of defence projects
  4. Experience of engineering estimation
  5. Experience of producing engineering plans with dependencies, assumptions, risk and opportunities identified, communicated and managed
  6. An understanding of the different design gates a project goes through, from bid to full scale production readiness review
  7. An understanding of configuration management and change management
  8. A background in systems engineering, with an understanding of electrical, mechanical and software engineering
