Contract Manager/Project Manager

To oversee the delivery of the Permanent access platforms. These are galvanised steel access platforms to be installed below the Bridge in Edinburgh. There are approximately 250 tonnes of steelwork and 3000m2 of GRP decking to be installed in a tight matrix of scaffold where access is difficult.

To have overall responsibility for managing at high level the installation of steel permanent access (Commercial, Operational, Safety) platforms on Bridge.

Person Specification

Should ideally reside within the area of Edinburgh or within reasonable travelling distance, but will accommodate the right candidate who wants to stay away from home.

1. Degree Qualified - Essential
2. 10 years in senior Project manager or similar position - Essential
3. Very Good knowledge of NEC contracts - Essential
4. Clear track record of delivering complex engineering projects - Essential
5. Good person/client manager skills
6. Heavy Civils experience
7. Bridgeworks ideally steel bridges but not essential
8. Knowledge of undertaking contract programmes (Microsoft Project)
9. Role is demanding as the client is difficult (contractually) therefore commercial acumen is important
10. We are looking for a leader

Managerial Responsibilities

Will have a Construction Manager, Senior Works Manager and part time Project Manager as direct reports.
