Contract Employment Lawyer

Our client is urgently seeking a Contract Employment Lawyer with Tribunal Experience to support their esteemed Employment Team.

EMPLOYMENT & TRIBUNAL LAWYER

This role, which can be based in Manchester, Bristol or remotely, offers an initial 3-6 month contract with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will ideally be immediately available or able to start within a 1-2 week notice period.

What you'll do:

As an Employment & Tribunal Lawyer, your role will be pivotal in supporting the Employment Team. You will handle a variety of responsibilities from managing tribunal claims to drafting crucial employment-related documents. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing legal support during corporate deals and outsourcing contracts. Your ability to manage a busy and varied workload will ensure the smooth operation of the team.

1. Handle employment tribunal claims, predominantly acting for Respondents
2. Support on major cases, particularly in taking witness statements
3. Assist employers in managing workplace issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, restructuring and redundancies
4. Provide employment law support in corporate deals and outsourcing contracts
5. Enforce post termination restrictive covenants
6. Draft contracts of employment, consultancy agreements, staff handbooks, settlement agreements and other employment related documentation

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Employment & Tribunal Lawyer position will bring a wealth of experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters. As a qualified solicitor registered with either SRA or Law Society, you have previously advised large private sector employers and have a background in Tribunal litigation. Your ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously coupled with your team-oriented approach makes you an excellent fit for this role.

1. Proven experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, acting for the respondent
2. Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered)
3. Experience advising large private sector employers
4. Background in Tribunal litigation
5. Ability to manage a busy and varied workload
6. Team-oriented approach to work
