Role Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Contentious Construction Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join its well-regarded construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a proven track record in contentious construction matters to take on high-profile, complex cases and work closely with a talented team of professionals.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advising clients on a broad range of contentious construction matters, including disputes related to construction contracts, delays, defects, and claims.
  2. Managing your own caseload, with support from senior lawyers where necessary.
  3. Representing clients in litigation, adjudication, arbitration, and mediation, and drafting relevant documents and pleadings.
  4. Collaborating with clients, other solicitors, and experts to deliver tailored and effective dispute resolution strategies.
  5. Maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients, while actively supporting the team in business development efforts.
  6. Keeping abreast of developments in construction law and providing updates to clients on relevant legal changes.


Skills & Experience:

  1. Qualified solicitor with at least 5 years PQE in contentious construction law.
  2. Strong experience in construction disputes, ideally covering both private and public sector projects.
  3. Proficiency in adjudication, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple matters effectively.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for building client relationships.
  6. A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commercial mindset.
