Job description

Content Writer

Location: Leeds

Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 per annum

With over 20 years' experience under their belt, our client knows a thing or two about all things digital. Their portfolio of services span performance marketing, website development, eCommerce, and data intelligence. But they're more than just a digital agency; they're their client's key partner in growth.

Joining their performance division, you'll be part of a team of SEO experts and paid media trailblazers. Working across outreach, technical SEO, digital PR, social media and more - there's not a part of performance marketing they don't deliver.

Their superpower is helping ambitious brands accelerate their growth in the digital economy, and they work with some pretty cool clients like Cruise.co.uk, tombola, and Hammonds.

The Role

You will be joining a growing team of content specialists and expected to provide a variety of web content assets, including (but not limited to) landing pages, product pages, blog posts, online PR, articles and guides. This position will cover a variety of industries ranging from sport and finance to beauty and interiors. The work provided is both varied and challenging and includes writing and editing content such as a short snappy post for Facebook or a well-researched, detailed landing page of 2,000 words to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Working closely with the technical, outreach, digital PR, studio and strategy teams to deliver the best possible content
  2. Creating fresh ideas for blogs
  3. Writing SEO articles for websites around pre-selected keywords
  4. Liaising with clients to produce the highest quality content e.g. client calls, F2F meetings
  5. Implementing best practices of web-based writing
  6. Researching client industries and products
  7. Awareness of wider industry trends and best practice
  8. Working to set deadlines, targets and KPIs
  9. Reporting on the basics of written content
  10. Helping to develop the junior content writers
Skills and Qualifications
  1. You will have previous experience as a writer within an office environment. You will have strong academics in English and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
  2. A passion for writing, particularly for an online audience
  3. Fluent, confident and clear writer with the ability to communicate a wide range of information effectively and concisely
  4. Shows self-motivation, enthusiasm and energy
  5. Team player with a mature manner
  6. Have a minimum of one year's experience in a writing or admin role
  7. Educated to degree level or have 'A-level' English or equivalent
  8. Ability to meet tight deadlines
  9. Ability to keep calm and professional in all situations
  10. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  11. Efficient researcher, ensuring that the information they use is accurate and relevant to the client's business
  12. Ability to take responsibility for their own work, ensuring accuracy both in content and in writing
  13. Excellent writing skills, including grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, and style
