Job Purpose

BBC Radio Wales is the national English language radio station for Wales. We produce 140 hours of output a week, from production bases across Wales, with a broad range of content - including News, Politics, Sport, Entertainment, Comedy, and Music.

At BBC Radio Wales, we’re passionate about creating radio which sits at the heart of Welsh life. We entertain our listeners while informing and educating them – but we want to go further than that: we’ll surprise our audience and delight them – not just sometimes, but every day. We’re the home of a diverse range of presenters including Jason Mohammad, Behnaz Akhgar, and Bronwen Lewis. We’re warm, we’re welcoming, and hearing from and interacting with our listeners is an essential part of our daily output - because BBC Radio Wales is somewhere our audience calls home.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Main responsibilities will include producing distinctive content on a variety of platforms across the station. You will be required to work effectively with other departments, suppliers, and partners (internal and external) ensuring the BBC maintains excellent relationships throughout. As a Content Producer, you will lead, motivate, and support a team, ensuring that the editorial vision is communicated and understood.

Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience of live studio production – demonstrable experience of working with (directing) a presenter - sometimes an inexperienced one. Experience of planning, writing, recording, editing, and delivering a live or pre-recorded programme is essential. Experience of filming and editing videos for social media is also essential.
