The Royal College of Art (RCA) is seeking a talented Content Editor (Maternity cover) to contribute to the development of high-quality editorial content across our digital and print platforms. In this role, you will ensure that the RCA's website, publications, and social media channels reflect the latest news, research, and achievements of our staff, students, and alumni.
Key Responsibilities
Write, edit, and manage content for the RCA website, printed publications, and digital platforms.
Collaborate with Communications & Marketing colleagues to research, produce, and edit compelling stories.
Work closely with academic teams to source and develop engaging content ideas.
Liaise with the Research Office to maintain an up-to-date and impactful research profile.
Conduct interviews with staff, students, and alumni, producing written and multimedia content.
Ensure content meets technical guidelines and aligns with the RCA's house style.
Provide editorial support for key publications, offering creative ideas for features and articles.
Manage and prioritise your own workload effectively to meet deadlines.
Person Specification
Essential:
Proven editorial/journalism experience in both print and online publications.
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
Ability to maintain a consistent house style across different platforms.
Familiarity with managing and creating content for social media in a professional setting.
Experience in picture research and sourcing relevant imagery.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
