We have an exciting opportunity for a wordsmith Content Editor who will be an important member of our communications team, delivering high-quality content across all aspects of Our Future Health. Think invite letters that land on doorsteps, posters that grab attention on the street, and emails that seek to further engage existing volunteers. Our words help people understand what we do, encourage participation, and increase volunteer engagement.
Our Future Health will be the UK's largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent, and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.
What you'll be doing:
This is a cross-cutting role, working with colleagues across the organisation in our product, public engagement, operations and science teams to understand the needs of our audiences and convert those insights into compelling content. Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Write clear, intuitive and compelling copy for our websites, information resources, print collateral, social media accounts, email campaigns, blogs, brochures, newsletters and more.
- Work in tandem with our Brand Designer to produce eye-catching and on-message visuals, such as posters and invite letters.
- Contribute to new recruitment and engagement opportunities across our public and researcher audiences.
- Be a ‘word ninja', ready to turn your mind to any copy-writing or content marketing task, however big or small.
- Be a guardian of our brand across all channels, supporting the rest of the organisation to speak and write with consistency of tone and phrase.
- Undertake horizon scanning to create well-informed and inspiring content.
- Collaborate with the wider communications team to support the long-term brand strategy.
- Help to manage external creative suppliers.
