This role balances strategy, leadership, and delivery as you will need to introduce the organisation into new ways of working while also ensuring our content quality is high.

This is a pivotal role as you will essentially run the content delivery system governance and processes for the organisation and connect all content creators in the organisation. Therefore, you will need to come with experience of leading content delivery system change, through broad teams, in large complex organisations.

What will I be doing?

  2. Establish and enforce content guidelines for CRUK, ensuring compliance for all published materials.
  3. Oversee the upskilling of content producers across CRUK, focusing on tool proficiency, as well as content measurement and monitoring.
  4. Refresh and deliver a continually evolving content strategy across the organisation as our capabilities evolve.
  5. Identify gaps and opportunities for content across Cancer Research UK and feed those into our strategy.
  6. Work closely with leadership to Identify and create KPIs and OKRs that support decision making and our strategy around content.
  7. Be accountable for leading a team of content specialists that support the organisation where capacity is limited, or the skills are not present.
  8. Responsible for making sure audience insights from content work are accessible and actionable across the organisation.
  9. Define and oversee the end-to-end content and production development process, from research and ideation to planning, execution and measurement.
  10. Lead your team to build capability around content creation, maintenance and analysis across the organisation where appropriate.

What are you looking for?

  1. Experience of leading content delivery system change, through broad teams, in large complex organisations.
  2. Significant leadership experience, with proven track record of delivering results through vision setting effective team leadership and collaboration.
  3. Experience of collaborating closely with content owning teams, subject matter experts and other stakeholders to develop engaging content aligned to CRUK's strategy and audience needs.
  4. Familiarity working with experience design, research and analysis methodologies.
  5. Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and digital asset management (DAM) platforms and taxonomy for organising and distributing content effectively.
  6. Significant understanding of end-to-end supporter journeys and how the content delivery system performs a key role.
