Your new role
As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in our global Site Solutions team, you will be providing sustainable solutions to potentially contaminated sites in the property, industrial, hi-tech, energy, and transport sectors. To succeed in this role you should have previous experience in land contamination assessments and supervising environmental site investigations. An appropriate degree in geology, geography, or an environmental subject is required.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Phase 1 environmental site assessments:

  1. Undertaking desk-based research.
  2. Carrying out site visits.
  3. Preparing factual and interpretative reports.
  4. Coordinating portfolios of Phase I environmental site assessments.

Phase 2 environmental and geo-environmental site investigations including:

  1. Scoping site investigations and contributing to proposals and tenders.
  2. Planning and supervising environmental and geo-environmental site investigations.
  3. Assessment and interpretation of soil and groundwater analytical data.
  4. Environmental risk assessments and detailed quantitative risk assessments.
  5. Interpretative report writing and client liaison.

Remediation

  1. Contributing to remediation option appraisals, remediation strategies, and verification reports.
  2. Providing a remediation oversight role.

Your role will include:

  1. Collaborating with colleagues in our multidisciplinary and international market.
  2. Supporting existing clients and helping to develop new client relationships.
  3. Project managing contaminated land and brownfield projects from start to finish.
  4. Providing technical expertise and mentoring of earlier career team members.
  5. Site supervision where senior expertise is needed.
  6. Contributing to Ramboll’s climate and sustainability commitments.

We are interested to hear from you if you have experience in one or more of these areas:

  1. Contaminated land assessment.
  2. Property and/or environmental due diligence.
  3. Project management of contaminated land assessments and/or multi-disciplinary teams.
  4. Environmental and human health risk assessment.
  5. Remediation options appraisal and strategy.
  6. Large due diligence projects.
  7. Demolition, decontamination, and decommissioning.

The key deliverables for this role over the first 12-24 Months will be:

  1. Safely planning and undertaking intrusive site investigations.
  2. Writing reports efficiently and to a high standard.
  3. Working with analytical and environmental data.
  4. Project management, from inception to interpretative report delivery.

About you

  1. Appropriate degree in environmental and geological sciences, or a related environmental discipline.
  2. Master’s degree in an environmental discipline (advantageous).
  3. Previous experience of planning and supervising environmental and geo-environmental site investigations.
  4. Prior experience in project management and delivery of due diligence projects.
  5. Managing, supporting, and developing people.
  6. Full clean driving licence.
  7. Experience with IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  8. Numerically competent.
  9. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  10. Competent and efficient report writing skills.
