Honeycomb Jobs is delighted to be working with our public sector client, to recruit a Consumer Protection Officer at Executive Officer II level on a temporary contract based in Belfast.

The Client – Our public sector client provides free, independent support and advice for individuals and businesses in Northern Ireland in addition to being empowered to investigate complaints over a range of sectors.

The Role: This credible position reports into the Consumer Protection Supervisor. Duties will include but will not be limited to:

  1. The investigation, resolution and reporting of all consumer-related complaints, especially within given timescales.
  2. Ensure all complaints are acknowledged in a timely manner and customers are kept informed throughout the complaint process.
  3. Maximise consumer satisfaction with the organisation’s complaints function.
  4. Be the first point of contact for all consumer complaints and protection related issues.
  5. Liaise with all directorates, in particular Policy teams, on a regular basis and report on the level of consumer complaints.
  6. Provide complaint trends and communicate lessons learnt, so service levels can constantly be improved.
  7. Input all complaints expertly onto the organisation’s CRM database, reporting and seeing through to completion.
  8. Escalate all unresolved issues/complaints to the Consumer Protection Supervisor.
  9. Ensure all organisation policies and procedures relating to customer complaints are followed, adhered to, and documented.
  10. Be a brand champion for the organisation and promote a positive perception of the organisation to all staff and stakeholders.

The Person:

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential:

  1. Experience of working in a busy complaint-handling role.
  2. Experience of complaint resolution.
  3. Experience of inputting information onto customer databases/CRM systems.
  4. Experience of liaising with external stakeholders/suppliers.
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills.
