Job Description
The Consulting Systems Engineer role is an overlay mission to bring expertise to the different regions working closely with Sales, Sales Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts.
The role's primary focus is to relay the expertise with FortiCNAPP (Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform) to the sales teams, customers, and partners, conduct PoVs, and research integration with Fortinet's comprehensive cybersecurity offerings.
As a member of the Fortinet EMEA public cloud team, you will work closely with the sales team to position the FortiCNAPP solution in public cloud, assist field Systems Engineers in their projects, and report product evolution requests to Product Management.
Key Role Responsibilities include:
- Act as the go-to technical resource for FortiCNAPP to assist the SE organization:
- in supporting key projects to ensure Fortinet success
- in leading technical discussions, articulating the technology, and demonstrating differentiated value
- in conducting compelling solution presentations, demonstrations, and PoVs
- in responding to RFPs/RFIs: design, solution specification, product information
- Being responsible for building technical material to support sales activities and design workshops
- Effectively spread CNAPP, cloud, and FortiCNAPP knowledge to the Sales Team and Channel
- Point of contact for the Product Management team: responsible for reporting and consolidating customer needs across EMEA, validating business cases, writing, and prioritizing feature requests
- Report project activities, analyze project trends, and provide market vision
- Participate in the development of commercial strategies
- Participate in seminars
- Being able to self-start and understand the addressable market for your designated technologies
- Work closely with Product Managers and peer CSEs to provide your input on product direction and strategy
Required Skills and Technical Experience:
- Extensive pre-sales experience
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
- Experience in public speaking
- Excellent presentation and demo skills
- Three to five years of experience with cloud solutions and/or virtual platforms
- Knowledge in modern software architecture using CI/CD, DevOps tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Scalability, and API-first strategy
- Working knowledge of Python, Java, or other programming languages
- Familiarity with relevant compliance standards such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF, as well as regulations for cloud security
- Cloud certifications such as CSSP, Azure Security Architect, AWS Solution Architect, or GCP Cloud Architect are a plus
- A self-motivated, independent thinker
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in cloud and/or security industry with 5+ years of experience.
