Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult

The post would appeal to anyone who has an established interest in Mental Health Services. Main Duties of the Job

We want a Consultant Psychiatrist who can:

  • Deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our patients and carers.
  • Work in partnership at both strategic and operational levels with relevant and external stakeholders.
  • Provide excellent clinical leadership and actively develop your team along with expert advice to our hospital and community specialists, managers, and directors on what is needed to deliver excellent care and future strategic directions.
  • Liaise with General Practitioners, hospital and community specialists, and other agencies wherever relevant.

Job Responsibilities

We are now seeking to recruit Consultant Psychiatrists to join our community mental health services Charnwood Locality on a full-time or part-time basis. You will work in partnership with members of well-established multi-disciplinary teams, both operationally and strategically to drive forward innovation delivering the best effective care for our patients.

Salary and Benefits

You will be receiving at Level C £22,500 recruitment and retention premia, which will be paid over 3 years on top of your salary and a relocation package up to £8000 (subject to conditions).

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRC Psych or equivalent.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of the interview date.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
  • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience within NHS or comparable service.
  • Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit, and service improvement awards, prizes, presentations, publications.
  • Has led clinical audits leading to service change or improved outcomes to patients.

Experience

  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
  • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience within NHS or comparable service.
