Job description

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is rated as an outstandingly well-led Trust by the CQC and is committed to innovation and transformation. To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the county-wide CAMHS Learning Disabilities team, as part of our Specialist services division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of child and adolescent and ID psychiatry and who is able to support the service in delivering compassionate and patient-centred care.

The role is part-time at 5PAs per week, with an additional PA (pro rata) as part of recruitment and retention. We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which would include job share and remote working. As the role may entail home visits and travel across the county, it is integral that the postholder is able to travel via car, due to limited public transport.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide specialist mental health assessments and treatment of children and adolescents with complex mental health disorders and LD, where there are multiple risk factors and co-morbidity.
  • To provide professional leadership and work collaboratively with other team members in providing a first-class service for the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders in children and young people with LD. This will include contribution to multi-disciplinary team meetings, development days, joint management of cases and case discussion.
  • The postholder will be working within a multi-disciplinary team that includes colleagues from various professional backgrounds including clinical psychology, nursing and social work. The postholder will be expected to provide advice, consultation, teaching, training and supervision, where appropriate, to other members of the team.
  • The postholder will be expected to develop positive working relations with Local Authority Children Services, GPs in the respective surgeries within the catchment area and all partner agencies.
  • The service is committed to implementing recommendations within the National CAMHS review including improving access. Due to the geography of the catchment area and the wider service, the postholder may on the rare occasion have to undertake some outreach work for young people who for various reasons are unable to attend clinic appointments at the main team base.
