Consultant Psychiatrist - General Adult Inpatient Unit
Lancaster
20-Bed General Adult Inpatient Ward- NHS
£85 plus per hour

Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our NHS client's general adult inpatient team in Lancaster. This role will be based on a well-established 20-bed unit, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients requiring acute mental health support. You will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, including a middle-grade doctor, to provide leadership and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, treatment plans, and ongoing care for adult inpatients.
2. Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, coordinating with psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and support staff.
3. Act as Responsible Clinician (RC) for patients under your care.
4. Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and uphold clinical governance standards.
5. Participate in the on-call rota as required to ensure continuity of care.

Essential Requirements:

1. Full GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
2. CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or equivalent, or within six months of completion.
3. Section 12 approval, Approved Clinician (AC) status, and experience as a Responsible Clinician.
4. Strong communication and leadership skills, with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
