Job Description:

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Stroke Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Stroke Department.

Our client is currently on the rise, with significant investment and development in the Trust. Recent work includes the construction of a Radiotherapy Centre, which means that patients will no longer need to travel further for treatment. This represents a huge milestone for the Trust and improves levels of care for our patients. Additionally, we have secured £15m to improve urgent and emergency care by replacing the current Urgent Care Centre with a new Urgent Treatment Centre, along with a successful bid for £30m to expand and improve services as part of their Way Forward Programme. Investment in the Stroke service has seen our SSNAP performance improve from Q1 19/20, where we were rated Level E to a consistent Level B SSNAP performing Trust.

The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various responsibilities, including:

  1. Participation in an out of hours consultant rota.
  2. Responsibilities for teaching, examination, and accreditation duties.
  3. Contributing to undergraduate, post-graduate, and continuing medical education activities.
  4. Development of sub-specialty interests that align with Division needs and the strategic direction of the Trust.
  5. Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
  6. Multidisciplinary team working, involving regular MDT discussions with colleagues.

Our client offers the best of both worlds: the attractions of big cities, attractive market towns, and villages, all within easy travelling distance, with excellent transport links to cities such as Cardiff and London, along with two highly touted international airports.

Additional Information:
  • Will consider full time or part time.
  • 10 P.A's.
  • Prestigious NHS Trust.
  • A well-supported and friendly team.
  • Must have GMC Registration.
  • Outstanding schools within public and private sectors.

If you are a Consultant in Stroke Medicine and this opportunity interests you or you know someone who may be suitable, please let me know as soon as possible. Alternatively, do not hesitate to ask if you require any further information.

Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy, you might need a work permit.
