Job description

We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in General Radiology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Radiology department.

Our client is one of the best performing Trusts in the country. They're also one of the top trusts to work for - their staff say they're engaged, motivated, and would recommend us as a place to work and receive treatment. Their Trust has been rated by the Care Quality Commission as 'Good' in all five of the main domains of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led, giving an overall rating of 'Good'. They've also been awarded an 'Outstanding' rating for 'use of resources' by an NHS Improvement inspection. Their facilities are some of the best in the country, and they have been investing around £10 million a year in their estate. They are currently spending £25 million on expanding their adult and neonatal critical care facilities at the trust and redevelopment of their children's unit - in partnership with their charity, CW+ and generous donors.

The appointee will join an existing team of 36 radiologists and the radiologist team is supported by a full team of radiographic, nursing, managerial and support staff including administrative staff. The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties within the trust, including:

  1. Participating in the on-call at the site on a 1:16 basis with a laptop with VR and a diagnostic monitor provided to enable remote reporting.
  2. Contributing to the new Acute Diagnostic Centre currently being built at their site.
  3. Participating in clinical audit, governance, incident reporting and analysis to ensure resulting actions are implemented.
  4. Participating in the recruitment and induction of junior medical staff as delegated by the Clinical Director/Service Lead.
  5. Being responsible for ongoing assessment and regular appraisal of all doctors in training.

  • Will consider full-time or part-time
  • 10 P.A's
