Job Title: Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Grade: Consultant
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Edgware, Greater London
Rate: Competitive, to be discussed upon application

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our NHS client’s dynamic inpatient team based in Edgware. This position is available for an immediate start, offering competitive rates.

Key Responsibilities:

The Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry will undertake the necessary clinical administrative duties associated with providing excellent patient care. They will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team, attending multidisciplinary team meetings and providing advice and support to the team. Supporting the further transformation of the service and leading on QI projects is a key part of the role. The consultant will ensure all cases are appropriately allocated to professionals within the expertise and skills available in the team. They will play a role in implementing children and young people’s IAPT and actively engage in developing services under the Transforming Care Agenda. Assessing and treating children and families is a core responsibility, along with actively engaging in links with other parts of Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, Primary Care Services, Social Services, and other agencies relevant to the services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Extensive experience in working with children who have neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • CAMHS and Neurodevelopmental experience.
  • Strong clinical leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
