Job Title: Consultant Hepatologist
Location: Truro, Cornwall, UK
Reports to: Care Group Manager/Clinical Director, Medical Director

Job Description: Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant Hepatologist to join our progressive and innovative Gastroenterology & Hepatology department. Situated in the beautiful county of Cornwall, our large teaching hospital trust offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly developed and award-winning department.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of Hepatology & Gastroenterology patients.
- Develop subspecialty interests and skills with departmental support.
- Share responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Gastroenterology & Hepatology department.
- Teach and train medical students and post-graduate doctors.
- Participate actively in continuing medical education (CME), clinical governance, and audit.
- Attend relevant meetings and fulfill duties of the weekly timetable.
Qualifications:- GMC Registration with a license to Practice.
- GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT (or equivalent) at the time of interview.
- MRCP (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians).
Desirable:- Higher Degree (e.g., MD or PhD).
- Train the trainers course.
- Management course.
Experience:- Teaching medical students, peers, and MDT.
- Experience in Gastroenterology.
- Experience in Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance.
- Delivery in therapeutic and diagnostic colonoscopy.
Skills:- Strong clinical and personal credibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Conceptual and analytical skills.
- Fluent English (I.E.L.R.S level 7.5).
Additional Requirements:- Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
- Valid visa to work in the UK.
- Occupational Health clearance.
- Three satisfactory references.
- Access to own transport and ability to travel within and outside the county.
- Must live no more than 30 minutes travel from the hospital if on-call rota is category A.
