The Functional Consultant works to deliver our WorkForce Software (WFS) Suite (Time, Scheduling, Integrations, etc.) in a way that solves the unique business challenges for each customer. The Functional Consultant works with the Global Services project teams to help ensure the WFS Suite products being developed comply with the needs of the customer and are delivered successfully by gathering and defining the customer’s documented workforce management business requirements and validating their expected results. They continue to develop their knowledge of WFS Products by taking WFS product suite training courses and maintaining certifications.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for gathering and identifying customer business requirements from users, customers, and other stakeholders. This includes creating, maintaining business requirement documents, use cases (including edge cases), and process diagrams.
- Help facilitate client workshops either onsite or remotely demonstrating understanding in best practices during the implementation of Workforce Management Software
- Help manage customer expectations with relevant communication during key stages of the project lifecycle
- Gather customer-specific product needs by completing the standard product questionnaires with valid information and communicate information to WFS project teams
- Escalate out of scope requirements and delays to the Project Manager
- Provide status updates to Project Manager, customers, and stakeholders on project status
- Maintain requirements and keep record of important project artifacts in designated project repository
- Organize multiple tasks and prioritize as needed to meet deadlines
- Attend and participate in team meetings
- Follow process and continuously improve skills by following procedures and processes established by the Functional Consultant Competency Team Leaders
- Estimate work effort with accuracy
- Partner with all WFS internal teams during project phases to ensure a successful customer implementation
- Assist customers with software testing along with roll out and go-live activities such as data loads and system initialization
- Learn and mentor others regarding the aspects of labor laws and how they impact employers and their employees
- Deliver web-based and on-site customer solution training workshops
- Investigate potential Workforce Suite Product project implementation quality issues reported during customer testing phases, including tracking and reporting trending defects
- Attend training courses and undertake self-learning as required to further develop the skills and knowledge necessary for continued success
- Maintain WFS Product Suite certifications required
- Able to consider the customer needs in the development of strategic plans
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate problems to appropriate technical experts
- Track billable and non-billable project hours
- Help mentor other team members
- Understands various project management methodologies
Requirements
- 2 years+ experience working in HR/Payroll/HRIS/Business/Systems Analysis or Quality Assurance
- Knowledge in generating process documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset required, as the role needs capability of rapidly shifting focus and responding to ever-changing conditions
- Familiarity with or background in HR, Payroll, or Workforce Management preferred
- Familiar with aspects of labor laws and how they impact employers and their employees preferred
- Experience implementing/full life cycle packaged software system preferred
Travel
- Ability to travel up to 50% with potential for international travel
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
