Job description

We are seeking dedicated Consultant Adult Psychiatrists who share our core values of commitment, trust, integrity, and kindness to join our growing team.

About The Role

As an Adult Psychiatrist specialising in Autism & ADHD assessments for individuals 18+ years old your responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting comprehensive developmental histories using preferred methods/tools to evaluate patients undergoing autism assessments.
  2. Conducting ADHD assessments.
  3. Observing patients during sessions and ensuring questions are asked in a thorough but compassionate manner.
  4. Reviewing reports, developmental history, and relevant collateral information from home and observer in the same session.
  5. Formulating a diagnosis, concluding the assessment, and providing feedback to the family in a kind, age-appropriate, and compassionate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local/national resources.
  6. Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in cases where further information is required and offering a separate follow-up session to conclude the diagnosis if needed.
  7. Producing high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to relevant criteria and report templates. (Admin support for formatting and quality control is provided).
  8. Requesting onward referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.
Our Clinics

  1. Up to four appointments per day, paid on a competitive per assessment tariff (self-employed, outside IR35).
  2. Remote work.
  3. Other options available such as hybrid/face to face, depending on your location.
  4. Flexible working days available Monday to Sunday, accommodating your schedule.
What We’re Looking For

  1. GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice.
  2. CCT in Adult Psychiatry required.
  3. Expertise and confidence in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or ADHD assessments for adults.
  4. Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal processes.
