Job description

  • Job Title: Construction Site Manager
  • Location: Plymouth
  • Contract Length: 12 Months
  • Pay Rate: £62 per hour (INSIDE IR35)

Skills:

  • Ensure compliance with high safety, environmental, and quality requirements on-site.
  • Develop and track a plan for key activities and milestones to meet project schedule.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of project progress. Help achieve key milestones and objectives.
  • Implement cost control measures to avoid financial overspend. Regularly monitor and report on project progress.
  • Ensure work complies with the project's quality goals and safety case requirements. Maintain alignment with the overall program objectives.
  • Proactively identify and manage high-risk areas of the work package. Coordinate effective interface management.
  • Manage and distribute project documentation (e.g., drawings, schedules) in line with company and project procedures. Maintain a document tracking register.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors and document control teams for issuing and receiving documents. Ensure up-to-date information is available for planning and construction purposes.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Demonstrated construction site management experience, ideally in regulated environments (e.g., MOD, Nuclear, Ports).
  • Availability to attend site five days a week during the construction phase.
  • CITB SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certified. BPSS security clearance as a minimum; willing to obtain SC clearance.
  • Supervisory experience in temporary works. Ideally, a full Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
  • Recognized qualifications such as NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in Devonport Dockyard is highly desirable.
